    Kittens are curious creatures, designed to investigate things at once with their feet and mouth. In the process, they can ingest their own reach. Clumping can be especially dangerous to the digestive tract, creating a rock-like obstruction that the bedding sets. In general, the ranges are not recommended for kittens.

    This opens an age-old debate on the safety of clumping litters, many of which contain sodium bentonite, a "natural" form of clay with physical properties that reflect those of cement extensible. Real comfort for cat owners who like "scoop and run", but potentially dangerous to cats if ingested in large quantities.
